Why 4v4 and 3v3 Programs?

Why 4v4 and 3v3 Fullcourt?

We have many reasons but here’s one of my favorites.

The game has changed and is more conceptual and played faster

All players need to be able to handle the ball, pass, shoot, and most importantly make decisions. If you watch NBA and college basketball, you’ll see everyone in play making roles. Take the Florida Gators as an example, two of their best play makers and offensive creators are big guys Alex Condon and Tommy Haugh.

4v4 and 3v3 provides the best opportunity for players to get more reps, make more decisions, and make more mistakes that they’ll learn from! They also get to play in space which more closely looks like transition or advantage situations which are the best opportunities for players to score efficiently. We want our players playing in transition as much as possible!

Consider the NBA’s average points per possession in transition vs halfcourt. Each possession in transition averages ~1.3 points vs halfcourt at ~1.0 point. That’s a 30 point difference per 100 possessions. This is with the best shooters and scorers in the world, so it is even harder for young players to score in the halfcourt.

We want our players getting used to playing fast and converting advantage situations!

Our 4v4 and Fast Play programs are designed to give our players these opportunities in a low risk environment that is a ton of fun!
